Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, and More Could Head to KONG: SKULL ISLAND

Jordan Vogt-Roberts' Kong: Skull Island, which has Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Straight Outta Compton actor Corey Hawkins set to star, recently lost Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons, but the production is aiming high when it comes to replacements.

Deadline reports that the Legendary Pictures is in early talks with Samuel L. Jackson to take over the role Simmons would have played, and they apparently want John C. Reilly to play Keaton's character, though no offer has been extended to him yet. Tom Wilkinson (Rush Hour, Batman Begins, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) has reportedly been offered a lead role in the film, though no additional information is available for who exactly that might be.

I really loved what Vogt-Roberts did with The Kings of Summer, and I'm hoping he can graduate successfully to big blockbuster filmmaking without missing a beat. These guys are all top notch talents who would be huge "gets" for any production, but all three of them (combined with the already-set cast) would be a tremendous accumulation of excellent actors in one movie.

Kong: Skull Island is set to arrive on March 10th, 2017, and I have a good feeling about this one.
