SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is The Official Title of The New Spider-Man Film
Tonight at the Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon, the studio announced that the official title of Marvel's solo Spider-Man movie will be Spider-Man: Homecoming, and above you can find an official logo that was revealed at the presentation. That's Tom Holland in the photo who was flown to Vegas in a private jet after the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War in Los Angeles so that he could be the one who announced the official title.
The title, Spider-Man: Homecoming, is a pun. The title not only references that fact that Peter Parker is a high school kid, but I'd like to think that it also tells us that the character has finally "come home" to Marvel. When talking about the film, the young actor said the title was mostly about the fact that Homecoming will show Peter Parker attempting to embrace his true identity.
"It really is a homecoming for the character, because throughout the story Peter [Parker] is trying to find his true identity, and where he really belongs in this world."
As you can see, the logo has a very fun and playful comic vibe to it. I absolutely loved Holland in the role of Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, and I'm so stoked to see how this solo film turns out! The movie is being directed by Jon Watts and opens on July 7th, 2017.
