STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Production Announcement and Official Teaser Trailer
And the countdown officially begins! Last week Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII started shooting. And now Disney teased us with a short video right from the set. The very new footage shows the scene where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off.
Lucasfilm revealed that the actors who will return for the new episode are Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. The studio also confirmed the rumor that Benicio Del Toro has joined the cast, and added that Oscar nominee Laura Dern (Jurassic Park) has come on board, along with newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.
Episode VIII is set to be released on December 15th, 2017. Until then, go on and give the brief clip a watch. You might just remember what being excited feels like!
