STARSHIP TROOPERS Could Resurface as a TV Series
Starship Troopers might be making a comeback, and if it does it could be as a feature film or a TV series. I'd much rather see a new Starship Troopers series over a movie. The news comes from an interview at Hitfix with producer Neal Moritz, who teased his plans for the sci-fi franchise by saying:
“We’re developing it. We’ve actually been talking about either doing it as a feature or doing it as a television show. So, we’ll see.”
For those who don't know, the story is set the future, and it centers on humanity's fight for survival against a race of giant man-eating alien bugs. Moritz has been working on this project for years, and it's good to know that he hasn't given up on it. Starship Troopers would make for an amazing series if done right. I wasn't a big fan of the original film, but the Roughnecks: Starship Troopers animated series was freakin' radical. That's a show that was ahead of its time.
There's no solid confirmation that anything is happening yet, but he definitely used the opportunity to generate some interest in the project. Would you rather see a new film or a series for Starship Troopers?
