SUPERGIRL and THE FLASH Are Getting a Musical Crossover on The CW, a "Significant" Hero Will Also Come Out as Gay
After a handful of denials, the folks behind The CW superhero shows The Flash and Supergirl have finally confirmed that the two characters will appear in a musical crossover episode in the back half of next season. It makes sense, considering stars Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist both appeared on the high school singing dramedy Glee and both are talented singers. At a TCA press tour event, executive producer Greg Berlanti said the songs will mostly be covers as opposed to originals. Keep in mind that this crossover will be separate from the one that features characters from The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow.
Additionally, USA Today reports that a major player from one of those shows will come out of the closet:
There’s also a change coming to one of the characters you already know. A "significant" player on one of the shows is going to come out as gay, but no word on who or where. Berlanti says he wants the reveal to stay a surprise for viewers.
Any guesses about on who it could be? This is especially interesting following this morning's announcement about The Ray. Sound off in the comments below.
