SUPERGIRL Lands a Full Season Order at CBS
A couple of days ago, a rumor surfaced that we might see a Supergirl and The Flash crossover episode if Supergirl ended up landing a full season order. Well, today we've learned that CBS has picked up seven additional episodes for the first season, which would bring the total number of episodes to twenty.
I think Supergirl ended up surprising a lot of people. I know I was surprised after all the bad press and the uninteresting TV spots promoting the series early on. I'm happy to hear that the show is getting a larger season and that there's a possibility we could see Supergirl team up with Flash for an adventure.
According to the announcement, Supergirl is one of this fall's top-rated TV shows. It has averaged 11.24 million viewers a week since it premiered back in October. I'm looking forward to seeing Supergirl's story play out, and if these ratings keep up, then I'm sure the network will push it forward into a second season as well.
The series stars Melissa Benoist as Supergirl and it follows the character as she embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be after years of hiding her powers. If you haven't been watching it, you should check it out, especially if you have daughters to watch it with!
