Superman to Appear in SUPERGIRL Series

I was wondering if Superman would end up making an appearance in the new Supergirl series being developed by Greg Berlanti for CBS. I thought it would be cool if it happened, but I didn't think it would because of the movies being developed by Warner Bros. It seems like maybe they have cast someone in the role though, because they are currently looking to bring an actor in as a body double for the character.

KryptonSite came across the following casting call description from Project Casting. It's pretty obvious who the character is they are talking about, especially when they get to the name they want casting agents to use in the subject line. Check it out:

We are looking for BODY DOUBLE for a DC Comic Superhero – You must be available for an interview this Thursday and if selected will work several day during March. This is for a CBS pilot. You can be SAG or Non-Union. You should be 5’11 or taller and be Square Jawed and have a ripped physique. You must send a bodyshot, shirtless, sizes, current contact info and your first five to [email deleted] – in the subject line write SUPERMAN 

So it looks like we'll actually see the Man of Steel make an appearance in Supergirl...at least in the pilot episode. The question is, who did they actually get to play Superman? I don't think Henry Cavill will be the actor in the role. How awesome would it be though if Tom Welling showed up!? I seriously doubt that will happen, but it would be cool.

Of course, maybe this casting call was sent out just to get our hopes up. Supergirl is scheduled to start shooting next month in Los Angeles. It's going to be really interesting to see what exactly is being planned for the series.
