Sylvester Stallone's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Confirmed and We Have Details!
Thanks to some press notes for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that have leaked online, we now have confirmation of who Sylvester Stallone is playing and it also offers details on the character's back story and how he fits in with the story. If you don't want to know any information regarding this, then please don't read ahead!
About a week ago we learned that Stallone might be playing a character named Stakar, who is also known as Starhawk. Well, this is now confirmed and here's the information that was revealed in the press notes:
"A lifelong respected Ravager, Stakar isn't fond of Yondu. Sylvester Stallone offers the character's back story: "Stakar has banished Yondu many years earlier for doing something wrong and he finally sees him almost twenty years later at this particular establishment called Iron Lotus where all of the Ravagers go to blow off steam. And then we have a confrontation which is pretty intense and it's kind of a father/son type thing and now he's going to have to pay the piper. His karma has come back ten-fold."
Sounds like we're going to see Stakar and Yondu fight, which should be pretty entertaining to watch! It also doesn't sound like things are going to end well for Yondu. This makes me wonder if Stakar is the one that actually imprisons Yondu in the story. We've seen parts of his escape from prison with the help of Rocket and Groot in the trailers that have been released. For more information on Stakar and his abilities, click here. It sounds like they may have changed the character up a bit for the movie. Whatever they do with him, he'll make an interesting addition to the story.
There's still no word on who Michael Rosenbaum is playing, but there's speculation that he could be playing Quasar. We'll just have to wait and see.
