Teaser Poster For THE HATEFUL EIGHT, Western Legend Ennio Morricone Composing The Score
Quentin Tarantino and the cast of his upcoming Western The Hateful Eight took the stage in Hall H at Comic-Con yesterday, and the writer/director revealed that the movie will be scored by legendary film composer Ennio Morricone.
The 86-year-old composer has an absolutely insane amount of credits to his name, but I'm guessing the main reason Tarantino recruited him was because of his iconic work on the classic spaghetti westerns of the 1960s and '70s, including Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy (A Fistful of Dollars; For A Few Dollars More; and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) and the amazing Once Upon a Time in The West. This is apparently Morricone's first western in forty years, and there's no better way for someone to add a sense of authenticity to a western than to collaborate with the man responsible for the music in those classic films. For a cinephile like Tarantino, that has to be an amazingly cool experience.
Meanwhile, the official Twitter account for the film unveiled a brand new teaser poster for the movie, and I think it looks pretty awesome. Check it out for yourselves below:
