Teaser Trailer For SNOWDEN, Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley
You may remember from the first-look photos that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in an upcoming biopic from director Oliver Stone called Snowden. As with most Oliver Stone films, this has the chance of being controversial because of the director's outspoken political views, but I think it's an important story to tell considering a lot of Americans still don't know the details of what exactly Snowden did and how he uncovered surveillance tactics that our own government was using to spy on its citizens.
The new teaser trailer has just arrived, and you can check that out below. After that, though, I'd highly recommend seeking out the Oscar-winning documentary Citizenfour (which takes us on a play-by-play of Snowden's actions) and watching John Oliver's amazing interview with Snowden from Last Week Tonight.
Snowden arrives in theaters on Christmas Day.
