THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Director Marc Webb Set to Helm the Action Adventure Bermuda Triangle Movie

Marc Webb, the director of (500) Days of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man films, is set to direct a Bermuda Triangle action-adventure movie, Bermuda.

This project has been in development for years at Skydance Entertainment, and at one point it was being developed by Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi. When he ended up dropping out the the project Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson jumped on board. That ended up not working out either.

Oh, and Ryan Reynolds was also set to star in the film at one point in the project’s long development, and Chris Evans was also in talks to star in the project. I doubt either one of them will end up in the project at this point.

After several years of trying to get this film into production, maybe Webb will be the director to actually make it happen. As of right now, no new writer has been attached because of the writers’ strike. The report says that once the strike ends and a writer can be attached, Webb would consult on the script but is not expected to co-write.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the report says that the story “will be set in the mysterious patch of the Caribbean where planes and ships have gone missing over the years.”

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce Bermuda for Skydance.
