THE FORCE AWAKENS' Biggest Death Was Foreshadowed in a 2010 Video Game

There are millions of Star Wars fans out there that it's not surprising that a fan predicted the title of the new movie two years before it was announced. There's also a staggering amount of content dedicated to George Lucas's universe, from straight up fan fiction to once-approved EU material (sorry, that's all no longer canon), books, comics, and much more. Considering the sheer amount of material out there, I guess it also shouldn't be all that surprising that a 2010 video game essentially spoiled the biggest character death in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but I still can't help but be a little shocked as to how close Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 managed to come to what actually happened. (Obviously, spoilers ahead.)

Look familiar? Some of the details are different, but that image of Han with a lightsaber through his chest that caused audible gasps in theaters around the world is right there, a full five years before the movie hit theaters. I'm not suggesting Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan, and Michael Ardnt stole this moment from the game, because that would seemingly imply that they had time to look at every single piece of Star Wars content that was created up until the point that they wrote the script, which is a ludicrous thing to assume. They were on a time crunch in the first place, so there's no way they had time to scroll through stuff like that. It's just a coincidence, but it's still striking to see Han like that, years before he died on screen.
