THE GOLDBERGS Will Finally Have a KARATE KID-Themed Episode!

ABC's The Goldbergs is easily one of the funniest, most entertaining shows on TV right now. It's an explosion of '80s nostalgia, and since it's been on the air it has themed episodes inspired by some of our favorite classic films. Some of those films include The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Dirty Dancing, The Goonies, Say Anything, A Christmas Story, Knight RiderMisery, and Commando.

I've been saying since they started that they had to do an episode inspired by The Karate Kid, and I'm excited to say that it's finally happening! With a show like this, it was only a matter of time. Don't forget, Barry has always had a love for martial arts, and during Erica's talent show in season one he showed off his skills with the iconic crane kick. EW offers the following story details on the episode:

The episode finds Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Barry (Troy Gentile) cornered by a tough kid at school but given the opportunity to fight back in a school-sanctioned karate match. Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey), as she is wont to do, is compelled to intervene, effectively becoming the boys’ “Mr. Momyagi” as she tries to protect her schmoos.

It would be amazing to see Ralph Macchio make a cameo in this episode! They don't say if he will or not, but that's something that fans would enjoy seeing. The Karate Kid episode will air in late winter/early spring of 2017.
