THE HOBBIT Star Richard Armitage Joins OCEAN'S EIGHT
The Hobbit star Richard Armitage is the latest actor to join the impressive ensemble cast of Ocean's Eight. This is the female-led Ocean's Eleven spinoff film. The actor joins Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, and Damian Lewis as the villain.
In the film, Bullock's character leads a team of thieves and cons as they try to pull off a major heist. I believe Bullock's character is Danny Ocean's sister. Matt Damon will be making a cameo in the film and George Clooney is producing alongside franchise writer and director Steven Soderbergh.
I think Armitage is a solid actor, but since he played Thorin in The Hobbit, it's always weird seeing him in other movies. There's no word on who he'll be playing in Ocean's Eight, so we'll just have to wait and see.
Gary Ross is directing this film from a script that he co-wrote with Olivia Milch. Ocean's Eight is set to hit theaters on June 8th, 2018.
