The Identities of Peter Parker’s High School Classmates in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Revealed
We got to see our first official footage from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming at Comic-Con last weekend, and it completely blew me away. The movie looks absolutely incredible and it has that lovable charm that makes the John Hughes movies from the '80s so damn good. If you haven’t read the footage description from the panel yet, you can check it out here.
There wasn’t a lot revealed at the panel regarding the film that we didn’t already know, but afterwards, EW got to interview director Jon Watts and the cast of the film, and the director revealed the names of Peter Parker’s high school classmates in the story.
As Watts pointed at each actor around Tom Holland, he offered the name of each their characters. Zendaya is playing Michelle, Tony Revolori is playing Flash, Jacob Batalon is playing Ned, and Laura Harrier is playing Liz. Harrier went on to say that they “constantly refer to ourselves as The Breakfast Club.”
They didn’t really offer any other details on the characters they play, but they are all high school kids navigating through the horror of high school life and trying to get through it alive. We do know that Flash is a bully and in regards to that, Revolori says, “I’m [Peter Parker’s] bully and I don’t know how cool he is, but when we call cut, I’m just like, ‘Ah! You’re so cool.’”
The footage screened at the panel confirmed that The Vulture will be in the movie, but we don’t 100% know who is playing that character. There are reports that Michael Keaton will be the villain but that has yet to be seen. When talking about Vulture, Watts says:
“Vulture’s the first real villain in the Spider-Man comics. He’s in the second issue. He’s one of the classics from the best rogues’ gallery out there, and we’ve never seen him, he’s never been brought to life.”
Until now, and he looks pretty damn badass! Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to be released on July 7th, 2017, and I can’t wait to see more from the film! Check out the video interview below:
