The Joker and Mr. Freeze Confirmed for GOTHAM Season 2
Gotham's rogue gallery of villains is going to expand even more in season 2 with the addition of The Joker and Mr. Freeze. Fox has confirmed that the two characters will be introduced next season, and I couldn't be more excited!
These are both great villains, and it will be interesting to see how far they go to torment Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock. The news came from Gotham's "Upfronts" presentation for the coming fall, and it was reported by IGN writer Eric Goldman.
In case you're wondering, the upfronts presentation gives the series creators the opportunity to pitch their upcoming programs to advertisers and members of the press.
Last year Gotham director Danny Cannon said that Mr. Freeze was a character he would love to introduce into the series, and he got his wish. As for the Joker, we knew he would eventually show up. They teased several different characters in the first season who could possibly turn out to be the Joker. Showrunner Bruno Heller even said that that there will finally be a real hint of a storyline for the Joker by the end of the first season. Well, the first season has come and gone, and I'm not really sure where that storyline would have been set up. I guess it will be revealed when season 2 comes into play.
Other than all of the potential Joker plants they through during Season 1, did you see any real storyline for the Crown Prince of Crime set up in the final few episodes of the season? Maybe I missed something.
I'm excited to see how these characters are going to be handled in this series.
