THE PUNISHER: Three More Actors Join The Netflix/Marvel TV Series

Marvel.com has announced three new actors have joined Jon Bernthal in the cast of the upcoming Netflix/Marvel TV series The Punisher. Here's the rundown:

Ben Barnes ("The Chronicles of Narnia") joins the cast as Billy Russo, Frank’s Castle’s best friend from his days in the Special Forces. He runs a successful private military corporation called “Anvil.”

Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“Girls”) will play Micro, a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them.

And Amber Rose Revah (“Indian Summers,” “Son of God”) joins as Dinah Madani, a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.

Barnes is an underrated actor who I'd like to see in more projects. I was excited to hear he was joining the cast of HBO's Westworld, but now that I see he's come on board The Punisher as well, that might mean he won't be visiting Westworld for long.

In the comics, Micro is the Punisher's personal hacker and Billy Russo becomes the villainous Jigsaw. (Correct me if I'm wrong, comics readers, but I didn't think Russo and Frank Castle were best buds before they became enemies. Marvel may be switching up the backstories here.) As for Dinah Madani, she appears to be a character created specifically for this show.

What do you think about these new additions? All this Punisher talk reminds me of that ridiculous animated sketch about the character dropping terrible puns left and right.
