The Trailer for Dwayne Johnson's HERCULES Is Live
The first trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Hercules has been released, and it has some fun visuals. It all leads up to Johnson yelling "I am Hercules!" at the top of his lungs. It's a little cheesy, but in its defense, even Arnold Schwarznegger's Conan had its cheesy moments. In an interview with USA Today Johnson talked about the film, saying,
"The No. 1 goal is to make the definitive version of Hercules. We know we’re going to be under a microscope. Green screen and effects can be fantastic. But when you have real men, real sweat and even real blood, it’s very gratifying. You feel the substance.”
I hope he's right. I have to admit, though, that it's really hard to get excited about a movie directed by Brett Ratner. But I'll give it a shot. The movie also stars Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Rebecca Ferguson, Aksel Hennie, and John Hurt.
Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend…
Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.
Hercules opens on July 25th.
