THE WALKING DEAD is Getting a Year-Round Attraction at Universal Studios
Universal Studios has announced that a new attraction based on AMC's mega-hit zombie series The Walking Dead will be coming to the Hollywood park in the summer of 2016, and will stay open for the foreseeable future. Previously, the only Walking Dead-related attraction theme park fans could take part in was the walk-through maze that appeared as a part of the park's Halloween Horror Nights event.
As described in press notes, the Walking Dead attraction is significantly more intense than its Halloween iteration; the stomach-churning walk-through experience will boast “authentic walker make-up effects, sophisticated animatronic walkers, substantially more detailed set design and costuming, and highly recognizable props replicated from the series."
Greg Nicotero, the legendary make-up and effects creator who serves as an executive producer and director on the show, is teaming with the park to make sure everything feels like fans are walking through an episode of the series.
