THE WIRE Star Michael K. Williams in Talks to Join Lucasfilm's HAN SOLO Film

It looks like Lucasfilm's Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is about to get another great actor. Michael K. Williams, who has starred in The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, and The Night Of is in talks to join the film in a key role.

There are no other details on who he'd play, and it's hard to guess or speculate who his character could be. But judging by the films and TV shows that he's been in, it's safe to assume that he's going to play a shady character who resides in the underworld of the Star Wars universe.

If cast in the film, he'll join Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson, and Emilia Clarke. The film is currently shooting and is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller from a script written by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan

No story details have been released for the film, but we know it will explore Han and Chewbacca's adventures "before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian."

Williams is a solid actor, and it's awesome to see that he might actually end up in a Star Wars movie. The untitled Han Solo movie hits theaters May 25, 2018. To see a previously released photo of the cast packed into the Millennium Falcon, click here.
