THOR: RAGNAROK Director Taika Watiti is Playing Korg in the Film!

Dear Marvel, thank you for making this year something to look forward to. First you showed me a wonderful trailer of Thor: Ragnarok, which made me feel like comic book movies are finally starting to be like comic books, and now, thanks to /Film, I find out that the director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Watiti, who is an actor as well, is set to play Korg in the Movie!

So first off, if you don't know Taika Watiti, check out What We Do In the Shadows. It's a fantastic film that really shows off Taika's brilliance in comedy and timing. He plays just such a happy and friendly vampire.

Now, some information about Korg for those of you who don't really know who he is. Korg played a part in the Marvel Comics' Planet Hulk, which as you know was a huge influence in developing the story for Thor: Ragnarok. He is a Kronan, which is a rock looking dude who becomes a friend to Thor in the story. Korg is said to be a warm-up champion in the Grandmaster's Contest of Champions. He's about 8 feet tall, made of grey rocks, and has war paint markings and a gladiator costume.

I love Taika and his sense of humor and am so excited to see this cross over into the Marvel world.

Thor: Ragnarok opens on November 3, 2017.
