Tom Hardy Signed For Three More MAD MAX Movies, Calls FURY ROAD "F*cking Unbelievable"
We have great news for fans who saw the most recent trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road and thought, "I want to see as much of that insane universe as possible." In a new interview with Esquire, it was revealed that star Tom Hardy is signed for three more Mad Max films, and we'll get to see them as long as Fury Road performs well enough. He's also seen the final cut of the film, and his reaction should get you even more excited:
As for the pressure, Hardy says it’s enormous. “I’ve never been more excited and out of my comfort zone.” He’s seen the film, and says it’s “fucking unbelievable”. He’s attached to a further three Mad Max films, though as he says, “Everything’s based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it’s a business.”
Back in 2011, we heard that director George Miller was planning for Fury Road to be the first in a planned trilogy, and there were initially plans to film the sequel — then called Mad Max: Furiosa — back-to-back with Fury Road. That didn't end up happening, but the fact that Hardy is signed for three more movies means there's another Mad Max movie on the horizon that we haven't even heard about yet. I can only imagine that Charlize Theron will return as well (considering she plays a character named Furiosa), so if Fury Road is as badass as it looks and enough people go see it, we should have plenty more craziness to look forward to in the coming years.
