Ubisoft's BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL Will Get a Film Adaptation by DETECTIVE PIKACHU Director Rob Letterman

Ubisoft’s popular video game Beyond Good and Evil is getting a film adaptation thanks to Netflix and it will be helmed by Detective Pokemon and Goosebumps director Rob Letterman.

The story for the game is set in the 25th century on a remote mining planet that is under alien attack. “The military rulers that promised to defend the population may be in league with the invaders. In this environment, a young photojournalist named Jade is recruited to be part of an underground resistance movement.”

I’m not familiar with the game, but it sounds like it could make for a fun flick and it sounds like the kind of film project that is perfect for Letterman to take on. It seems like the kind of project that fits his fun and silly storytelling style.

The film will be a hybrid of live-action and animation. It’s in early development and Netflix is still on the hunt for writers to adapt the game.
