Unbelievably Accurate Paper Model of the Millennium Falcon
Star Wars fans never cease to amaze me with their level of devotion to creating (or recreating) cosplay, models, games, toys, and thousands of other things to look exactly like how George Lucas and his prop team envisioned them back in 1977. Today we have a brand new example of this kind of fanatic devotion to detail with a Millennium Falcon made almost entirely out of paper - almost, but not quite. It's 99% composed of paper, but the other 1% consists of LED lights and fiber optics on the interior. It's a breathtaking achievement by Polish artist Bernard Szukiel, who said it took him four years to complete using photos he found online.
The LEDs and fiber optics are insanely impressive by themselves, not even taking into account how spot-on accurate the exterior of the Falcon is. Everything, down to scratches on the paint, is lovingly recreated here, and it boggles the mind how much time went into this. It looks incredible, though, so I suppose it was all worth it.
