Unsettling Full Trailer Released for Hulu's THE HANDMAID'S TALE

"Better never means better for everyone."

Hulu has released the full trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, and it has a heavy unsettling vibe. The story is set in a future dystopian society where religion rules and fertile women are forced into sexual servitude and considered property. It's a very depressing world, but it sure makes for a compelling story.

The series features a great cast that includes Elisabeth Moss as Offred, Joseph Fiennes as The Commander, Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Joy, Samira Wiley as Moira, Alexis Bledel as Ofglen, Max Minghella as Nick, Madeline Brewer as Janine, Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, and O-T Fagbenle as Luke. Here's the synopsis:

The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted fundamentalism in its militarized ‘return to traditional values.’ As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is a Handmaid in the Commander’s household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate the world. In this terrifying society, Offred must navigate between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead – all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.

The Handmaid's Tale is set to premiere on Hulu on April 26th.
