Disney/Lucasfilm have already launched their first new Star Wars property with Star Wars Rebels, but obviously all eyes are on The Force Awakens to see what the future holds for live-action adventures in a galaxy far, far away. But in order to get all of the creative units on the same page, the company decided to completely destroy the Star Wars Expanded Universe, meaning that all of the stories previously thought to be canon (or, an officially acknowledged part of the Star Wars saga and timeline) have been thrown out.
