Viola Davis Cast as Amanda Waller in SUICIDE SQUAD
One of the last big casting announcements we've been waiting to see for David Ayer's Suicide Squad was for the character Amanda Waller. This character is a prison warden and a former congressional aide and government agent that oversees the team. She is kind of like the Nick Fury of the group. According to Latino-Review, Viola Davis (The Help, Ender's Game) has landed the part. She's a very talented actress who seems perfect for the role.
Right now the studio is just trying to figure out how to work around the schedule of her TV series, How To Get Away With Murder. She will join Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Tom Hardy as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
Davis was rumored to be up for the part when the initial casting of the film was announced. It's nice to see that things are working out for her. The movie hits theaters on August 5th, 2016.
