WALKING DEAD’s Robert Kirkman and Others to Write TRANSFORMERS Spinoffs and Sequels
Paramount Pictures and the producing talent behind the Transformers franchise, which includes Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, have brought in screenwriter Akiva Goldsman to help develop ideas for more sequels and spinoff films based on the giant robot moneymaking franchise. This team has now finalized the group of writers who will be developing these films.
The writers they hired to help bring these additional Transformers projects to life are Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman; Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway; Pacific Rim 2‘s Zak Penn, and Amazing Spider-Man 2 scribe Jeff Pinkner.
This is an interesting list of talent, especially with the addition of Kirkman, and it will be interesting to see what they end up producing. I’m personally tired of the Transformers franchise, and I could care less if we see any more films. But since Paramount is going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars making these movies that will gross billions, hopefully they use the opportunity to actually make some decent Transformers films. I’m not counting on it though. I’m sure we’ll just get the same mediocre drivel.
