Warner Bros. Developing BATMAN LEGO Spin-Off Film with Will Arnett

Batman was one of the most entertaining characters in Phil Lord and Chris Miller's The LEGO Movie. He was absolutely hilarious and stole every scene that he was in. Warner Bros. is going to take advantage of the situation and develop a Batman LEGO spin-off movie, which is freakin' awesome!

The animation supervisor on The LEGO Movie, Chris McKay, was set to direct the sequel. That sequel has now been pushed back, and the Batman spin-off movie is being put on the fast track with Mckay now directing LEGO Batman instead. It's also being written by Seth Grahame-Smith who wrote the novel Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and the screenplay for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.

Will Arnett is also set to reprise his role as the voice of the Caped Crusader. Lord and Miller are attached to the film as producers, so hopefully the movie will still include their brand of humor that made the film film so damn good.

The studio is looking to release the movie in 2017, which means we won't see the direct sequel to The LEGO Movie until after that. The studio is also in the process of developing Ninjago, which is set to be released on September 23rd, 2016.
