Warner Bros.' JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Movie Will Be Directed By Doug Liman

For years, Guillermo del Toro was developing a Justice League Dark film for Warner Bros. He eventually dropped out of the project and an animated film was announced. After I heard there was going to be an animated movie, I wasn't sure if the live action movie was still in play. I guess it is, because Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman has reportedly been hired to direct it.

Liman was supposed to be directing the Gambit movie for Fox, but according to Variety, he has officially left that project to take on this one. There's no word on who will take on Gambit next, but that movie has had some serious problems with locking down a director.

Liman is a solid director who has also directed films such as Swingers, Go, The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and more. I think he's a good pick for the project, but I would have much rather seen del Toro do it. It's a shame WB never moved forward with that vision.

The story, which is also known as Dark Universe, will revolve around a supernatural team of heroes that consists of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon. There are no details on the plot, but they will obviously come together to fight some kind of evil entity.

What do you all think of Liman taking on Justice League Dark for WB?
