Watch: Adele's HELLO, The First Music Video Ever Shot Using IMAX Cameras

Canadian director Xavier Dolan has five feature films under his belt at the age of 26, and he's currently in post-production on a sixth. The young filmmaker made waves last year on the festival circuit with his movie Mommy, and now he's making headlines for another reason: he just directed the first music video ever shot using IMAX cameras.

Dolan helmed the video for Hello, the first single from Adele's highly-anticipated new album 25.

Dolan joins an elite group of today’s most prominent Hollywood Directors that have had the chance to use IMAX cameras, including Christopher Nolan and J.J. Abrams. The cameras used in Adele’s Hello video have been featured on films such as Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Hunger Games: Catching Fire and the upcoming highly-anticipated blockbuster, Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Dolan leveraged IMAX cameras to film portions of the video. IMAX cameras are the highest resolution film cameras in the world - capturing images at up to 18K resolution or approximately 100x the resolution as your home HDTV.

The video also stars Tristan Wilds, who some of you might recognize as playing the conflicted young student (and gangster-in-the-making) Michael Lee in the later seasons of David Simon's HBO series The Wire. Check out the video below:

'Hello' is taken from the new album, 25, out November 20.
