Watch: The Biggest Kong Ever is Revealed in KONG: SKULL ISLAND Comic-Con Trailer
The Warner Bros. panel is underway in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, and the studio released some new footage for Jordan Vogt-Roberts' upcoming Kong: Skull Island.
There are tons of Apocalypse Now comparisons to be made here, and Vogt-Roberts really leans into the fact that this is a '70s war movie, not just some romp through the jungle. The cinematography is exciting, and Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston look like they fit well in this world, not to mention all of the badass shots of the massive, hulking Kong that are teased around the edges of the frame here (capped off by that cool final reveal). The only downside for me was Samuel L. Jackson's speech near the end — I love the guy, but his speech patterns are starting to get really repetitive.
What do you think?
Kong: Skull Island hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
