Watch: THE REVENANT Plus TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER Equals a Ridiculous Video Game

One of the complaints I've heard about The Revenant is that it takes itself too seriously. Well, here's one way to completely undercut whatever pathos it's trying to achieve: mash it up with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in a fake video game called Leo DiCaprio's Pro Revenant.

It appears that the One Perfect Shot team must have taken a ripped copy of an awards screener (not cool, guys) and applied Tony Hawk-style sound effects and graphics to it, giving Leonardo DiCaprio's Hugh Glass points for things like riding his horse and shooting natives. It's a fun concept, but they probably should have waited until the movie was legally available...and maybe not added points for killing natives. Kind of comes off as a little racist, don't you think?

Remember that fun extreme sports game that awarded players for completing cool tricks and doing generally destructive things? Now there’s a movie just like it! Chances are you haven’t compared Leonardo DiCaprio’s grueling, arduous performance in THE REVENANT to the cool skateboard tricks of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, circa early 2000s. But, when cut together with the classic soundtrack and menu screens, LEO DiCAPRIO’S PRO REVENANT totally seems like a justifiable representation of the 2016 Oscar favorite. Since subtlety was clearly not the concern for director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and the film itself awards DiCaprio’s character for performing rad survival tricks (fighting bears, jumping horses, killing Native Americans, etc.), THE REVENANT somehow seems like a torturous session of THPS, as the fearless Hugh Glass rampages through a landscape full of steep inclines and big drops, collecting power-ups like raw bison organs, and dodging Native American arrows with style. And his special tricks are so cool, even Bob Burnquist would ask, should whatever he’s doing even be considered acting? Visit oneperfectshotdb.com for more!
