Will Harley Quinn be Played by Cara Delevingne in SUICIDE SQUAD?
DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are deep in the process of casting David Ayer's adaptation of Suicide Squad. According to Latino-Review, the studio is looking at including a "villainous female role in the film," which the site speculates is Harley Quinn. The report also says that the studio wants to cast English actress and model Cara Delevingne to take on the role, and she definitely looks like she could fit the part Quinn. She's absolutely beautiful, and it seems like she has got a little bit of crazy behind those eyes of hers.
The site notes that earlier drafts of the script didn't include Harley Quinn, but it looks like that may be changing because Ayer is going to take a crack at rewriting the script himself, and Quinn is a character that he could easily include. After all, she's part of the recent incarnation of the Suicide Squad, and she's a fan favorite. I've been a huge fan of Harley Quinn since she was first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series. It's going to be so cool to see her brought to life on the big screen.
Delevingne is also up for a role in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5 movie. She had a small role in Anna Karenina and also has a small part in the upcoming Pan movie being directed by Joe Wright. She will next be seen opposite Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Bruhl in the thriller The Face of an Angel.
There's no confirmed casting at this time, but Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Ryan Gosling, and Margot Robbie have all been rumored to be up for parts in the movie as well. If these all go through, it would be one hell of a crazy good cast. I'm really hopping that Harley Quinn ends up being in this movie, because she would add such an amazing element to the story and the group of characters.
