Will VERONICA MARS Return to TV?

Veronica Mars, the beloved cult series about a teenaged detective, had so many people clamoring for a film adaptation that six years after it went off the air, creator Rob Thomas was able to raise a record-breaking $5.7 million in Kickstarter funds to produce the film. Star Kristen Bell and the rest of the cast all came back to reprise their roles in the 2014 feature, but sadly, the movie ended up being a little underwhelming. I thought that may be the end of the line for the franchise, but they ended up spinning it off into a web series called Play it Again, Dick.

Now there's some more talk about a film sequel, or possibly even a return to television for the pesky private eye. TV Line spoke with Thomas about the future of the franchise and asked if we'd see a second movie:

"I hope so. Kristen's game, I'm certainly game, yeah. We have nothing in the works. Kristen and I have talked about it, possibly doing a second movie or trying to take it out as maybe a short run series like they're doing, like a Veronica Mars True Detective is really appealing to us. That sort of set-up."

He cautions that he hasn't pitched that idea to a network yet, since his CW series iZombie has been keeping him busy, but it sounds like discussions have been had about seeing more Mars in the future. Is that a good idea? Would you like to see an extension of the story, and if so, in what form?
