X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Casts Ben Hardy as “Significant” Comic Book Character

British actor Ben Hardy, who is best known for is role in the BBC series EastEnders, has been cast in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. There’s no word on who exactly he’ll be playing, but Variety says that the part is significant to the X-Men universe. So he’ll obviously play a much larger role in whatever future X-Men films Singer and FOX are planning. The Wrap mentions that he was rumored at one point to be up for the role of Angel, though insiders say he has been cast in another important role that has not been revealed.

The actor was previously on a short list of young actors to take on the role of Cyclops, but that part ended up going to Tye Sheridan. Hardy joins James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and newcomers Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as young versions of Storm, Jean Grey, and Nightcrawler.

I’ve never seen EastEnders, so I have no idea if the guy is a good actor or not, but when I was looking for a photo of him for this post, I found that he has lots of shirtless photos on the internet. X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.

Who do you think this "significant" character will be?
