Zack Snyder May Have Inspired Ben Affleck Into The BATMAN Director's Chair

Ben Affleck is already co-writing the upcoming solo Batman film with Geoff Johns, and there are rumors that he will also direct the film. Those rumors have yet to be confirmed, and when Affleck was recent asked about it in an interview with USA Today, he still didn't confirm or deny it. This is what he did say, though:

"I’ll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this. And in working with (Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder) and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."

He was very careful with his words there, but he kind of implies that he'd like to do it. I imagine that he and the studio are still in the process of working out all the contractual details, which is why they haven't officially announced it yet. Maybe he simply hasn't decided if he wants to take on the challenge or not. If he does end up taking the directing job, I guess we can thank Snyder for inspiring him to do it.

I really do hope Affleck decides to direct The Batman solo film. I think he would do an awesome job with it and give fans something they'll enjoy. As much as I enjoy Snyder's directing style, I think Affleck is the better choice to develop this film.
