As everyone already well knows, last night's release of "The Dark Knight" didn't dissapoint. Nor, on that note, did the much anticipated  movie previews. What did we get a taste of? Check it out. As if we wouldn't get a glimpse at the new Watchmen trailer. Check it out here And like they're not going to throw us a taste of the new "Terminator Salvation" flick scheduled for a 2009 release. Rounding up the last of the new previews was Ridley Scott's "Body of Lies" starring Leo DiCaprio and Russell Crow. Go to fullsize image Now rumor has it folks that if you are lucky to catch "The Dark Knoght" on an IMAX screen you will get a sneak peek of the much anticipated Harry Potter "Half Blood Prince". It looks like Orson Scott Card's 'Enders Game' is going to Comic Book form! I myself am still waiting for the movie, but a comic book will have to do for now. I guess they are still trying to figure out how to make the movie. Or maybe they are putting out a comic book because comic book are finding huge success at the movie theater box office. Is it all part of a plan to refresh the 'Ender Game' story before it hits theaters several years from now? Who knows But here is some art from the comic book. The 'Enders Game' comic book will be unveiled at Comic-Con next week! Thanks to EW for getting the scoop! The Comic book is written by Christopher Yost and art by Pasqual Ferry.

His name is Roland Kickinger and he is also a Austrian bodybuilder just like the last Terminator T-800, Arnold Shwarzenegger. Its to bad Arnold won't be back but this guy looks the part. At least they aren't going to CG Arnold! Aint It Cool News pointed out the article from Clinton News Record where this information comes from.  Roland has trailed with Arnold in the past and even played him in a A&E biopic. The Following is information contain Spoilers so if you don't want to know then don't read the Red! It talks about his role in the new Terminator 4 movie.
"There's a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy," said Kickinger. "It's Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about."
So there it is folks! This is the next Terminator. The guy to fill Arnold's shoes. I have no reason to complain about this casting I think its fine. My biggest hang up for the film is still McG.

From start to finish 'Paprika' is an incredible visual experience.  'Paprika' is animation at its finest, it explores every facet and perspective animated film has to offer effortlessly.  From the moment the title character, Paprika, exclaims “It’s the greatest show time!” prepare to have your mind blown for 90 minutes straight.  The story revolves around Dr. Chiba as she attempts to recover a stolen device capable of delving into the dreams of others, even while they are awake.  No one is safe, as people around the good Dr. begin to have their minds shanghai’d and their dreams invaded by a nonsensical dream world parade of flute playing frogs and walking refrigerators which spills from dream to dream on its way to a place of no return.  'Paprika' does an excellent job of representing the nonlinear perception of a dream state, anything and everything comes to life and the point of perspective can change at anytime. 'Paprika' hijacks your attention as it weaves in and out of the vibrant dreams of its characters, and refuses to release until its finale where it leaves you amazed and dumbfounded. - The Dude

Venkman here - One of the things we wanted to do here at Geek Tyrant is a artist spotlight on different artists and different styles that we think are awesome. I am not an art critic by any means I just know like and I like what I see. So this is the first of these Artist Spotlights. I first ran into the Kevin Dart's Art at Comic-Con a couple years ago at a booth he had set up. I briefly met the man and he seems like a really nice guy. I have followed his art ever since. Kevin has got a great imagination, and a creative talent for bringing it to life. I love the retro style that he is best known for. I have posted a few of his recent prints below I love this stuff! I would love to see some of these ideas turn into a very stylized animated movie. The ideas are just very fun and playful. You definitely have to go to his website and check it out RIGHT HERE. Kevin has an amazing talent. It looks like he will also be back at Comic-Con this year so if you get a chance if your there make sure to seek him out and see his stuff! This next one is one of my favorite pieces by Kevin Dart. I am a huge fan of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns and Clint Eastwood, and it reminds me of that. I also like the simplicity of it.

Thats right, pretend you dont know what I'm talking about. "Dr. John Dorian? Whoever could that be?" I dont know how long it took me to admit to watching Scrubs, my dirty little secret came to light when a friend caught me sneaking episodes on my laptop some time in the middle of a three season binge. I've been out of the Scrubs closet ever since. Zach Braff announced that he will not be returning to Sacred Heart Hospital for a 9th season, but will move on to pursue other projects, currently "Open Hearts" which he will direct and star in. Season 8 has a mid season kick off next year. According to Producer Bill Lawrence, "The end of the show will be about J.D. leaving the hospital. When you leave, it's about holding on to your relationships." Don't fret too much, Zach has already left the door open to guest appearances and guest directing spots, that is, if the show can stay afloat without him (DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN!). ( That, by the way, was my feeble attempt to add super tense cliff hanger music to my otherwise bland writing) Tear. I do believe a teenage girl text message explative is so in line for this one.......  :(              The Dude Abides

2008 Emmy Nominations!

by Joey Paur +
Thats what they're saying! I didn't start watching 'The Shield' until 5 years into the show then I blazed throught the DVD's as fast as I could! I couldn't watch them fast enough, 'The Shield' is an amazing show! It is like a good book I just couldn't put it down! I am now impatiently waiting for the the final season to begin on September 2nd. Now this news comes out today from Variety:
"I've paid a lot of attention to finales of the shows that I've admired," he said. "There are shows that I thought were fantastic that had what I thought were weak finales and shows that had really great finales. We want to fall into the latter category."
Now here is what CCH Pounder (Claudette Wyms) say's about the finale:
"I think it's the greatest finale ever, hands down," she stated, boldly. "It blew my socks off. This finale is what Vic Mackey deserves."
Wow! I can't wait to see how it all goes down! If Vic Mackey gets what he deserves, it could go down so many different ways. If that isn't enough to get you excited David Marciano says:
"I can't concur with my co-star. You know, with 'The Sopranos,' there were mixed reviews about the finale. But I will tell you with this finale, there will be no mixed reviews. You will get your money's worth. Money back guarantee."
And What does Michael Chiklis (Vic Mackey) have to say?
"It's in the eye of the beholder," he warned. "You guys haven't seen it yet and I don't want to blow it. Shawn did a tremendous job writing the finale. Whether or not you guys see it that way, that's entirely in your hands. ... What thrills me about the finale is you will not see this coming. You will not know what we do. Then when you look back, you'll go, 'Holy cow, that's exactly right.'"
So there it is! Will 'The Shield' win the title of greatest finale ever? We'll just have to wait and see. Venkman Out!

Venkman here with some crazy cool news! I don't know about you but I am a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I grew up on those sewer living, pizza eating turtle freaks! I even had all the toys at one point. Damn, I wish I wouldn't have buried them in my backyard back in the day.  The first Live action Turtle Ninja live action movie was the best one so far. I thought the CGI film that was made in 2007 was the second best. I was really surprised at how good it was. Well it looks like we could get another new 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' flick! This time it will go back to live action! This news comes from /films who got it from playmatestoys.com here is what they say:
"Following the success of the ‘TMNT' theatrical release in 2007, Mirage licensing and Imagi studios have begun work on a new live-action TMNT film for 2010. It's the turtles like you've never seen them before! Shellalicious!"
If your a Ninja Turtle fan like me this is great news! We'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out. Just imagine for fun what the movie would be like if directed by Christopher Nolan.
