12-Year-Old CAPTAIN MARVEL Actress Mckenna Grace to Star in GHOSTBUSTERS 3

Director Jason Reitman has cast another one of the lead kid roles in Ghostbusters 3. 12-year-old Captain Marvel actress Mckenna Grace, who played the young version of Carol Danvers, will star alongside Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and The LeftoversCarrie Coon, who were previously cast.

It’s already been reported that the characters in the story will consist of two boys and two girls from the ages of 12 to 13. As for the story, it will focus on “a single mom and her family, with Coon playing the mom and Wolfhard playing her son.”

Grace has been described as “the ostensible lead” of the film and the sister of Wolfhard’s character. We still don’t know, though, how exactly this movie will connect to the original two films, but it will!

When previously talking about the project, Reitman said:

“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a six-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans. This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”

He added:

“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet."

Reitman also said that Ghostbusters 3 will be a love letter to the original film and he plans to start shooting it this summer for a 2020 release.
