GHOSTBUSTERS 3 Director Jason Reitman Says The Film is a Love Letter To The Original Movie
For those of you hoping that the new Ghostbusters film that is currently being produced will honor the original films in the franchise, it seems like that is the goal. Director Jason Reitman recently talked about the movie while appearing on Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast and said that Ghostbusters 3 will be a love letter to the original film.
“This is going to be a love letter to Ghostbusters. I love this franchise. I grew up watching it. I consider myself the first Ghostbusters fan. I was like seven years old when that movie came out and I love it. I want to make a movie for my fellow Ghostbusters fans.”
That’s great! I know we all hope that he actually pulls this off and delivers something special. He goes on to say that he never thought he'd ever direct a Ghostbusters film, but here he is directing one. It makes sense that he would follow in his dad’s footsteps.
Reitman went on to confirm that the film will indeed start shooting this summer for a 2020 summer release. It’ll be interesting to see how he ends up handling this.
While we don’t know many details about the film, it has been said that the new characters will consist of two boys and two girls from the ages of 12 to 13.
