2010 Academy Award Winners - THE HURT LOCKER Blows Up
The GeekTyrant crew had a great time covering the Oscars during our live blog. You can read all of our thoughts and conversations on the winners and losers of the Oscars Right Here. I was incredibly happy with the turn out of the Oscars in regards to who won. I was rooting for The Hurt Locker and I was incredibly happy that Kathryn Bigalow won Best Director and that the film took home the top prize for Best Picture. The six awards it received were very much deserved. As much as I liked Avatar, The Hurt Locker was just a better film. I also thought it was great that Sandra Bullock won Best Actress! She won both Best and Worst actress (Razzie) in the same year. She also gave one of the best acceptance speeches of the night.
As far as the awards show went, I really didn't care for Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin tag teaming the hosting duties for the Awards, it should have been Steve Martin by himself all the way. Then there was that really weird dance number thing. But all in all, we had a good time watching it, and we were all happy with the final outcome.
