First Look Photos: Darren Aronofsky's BLACK SWAN

If you've been reading the site for a while, you know that we don't JUST cover big budget tentpoles and the latest superhero flick (although those are definitely fun to write and talk about). One of these "other" projects that's on my radar is Darren Aronofsky's (Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain) Black Swan.

We've talked about the project before: the story, set in the world of New York City ballet, follows Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis in a psychological thriller as they start to mimic their ballet characters in dangerous ways.

For those who might not remember, the project generated a bit of a stir last year when it was announced there would be a "love" scene between the two female leads - our old pal Abe Froman wrote up a pretty enlightening piece about it that I'd recommend revisiting.

In any case, here's your first look at some photos from the film, thanks to USA Today (via ComingSoon).

The film will open the 67th Venice International Film Festival this year on September 1st.
