First Look at Merida from Pixar's BRAVE
We've seen some concept art for Pixar's upcoming new film Brave which looked great, but Disney and Pixar have released this first image showing off what the style of this film is actually going to look like. This image shows us the stories main character Merida being voiced by Kelly Macdonald (No Country for Old Men, Boardwalk Empire). This is Pixars first traditional fairy tale type movie, and it takes place in Scotland. There's no doubt it will be just as good as any of the other Pixar films, I guess we can hope that it ends up exceeding out expectations.
The movie was directed Marc Andrews/Brenda Chapman and it also features the voices of Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane.
Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida’s quest — and serving as comic relief — are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Coltrane).
The film is set to be released on June 22nd 2012. You can expect to see a trailer for it with the upcoming Pixar film Cars 2.
Here's a close up.
