THE HANGOVER PART III moving forward with Craig Mazin writing
As predicted, The Hangover Part III is moving forward and Craig Mazin will return to write the film. Mazin and Scot Armstrong wrote The Hangover Part II, which is on track to surpass the box office take of the original film and become the highest grossing comedy of all time. It is no wonder that Warner Bros. is moving forward on a sequel.
There has yet to be any confirmation on the rumor of the third film heading to Amsterdam. Mazin was interviewed by Badass Digest last week, he revealed his plans on how he'd like to end the film, which should finish the series:
I think the third movie ends with Doug staring at a row of crosses in a graveyard. It’s everyone – his wife, his family is dead, everybody from the first movie is dead. Somebody shows up and tells him his dog is dead.
Todd Phillips has repeatedly stated that he plans to break the formula of the first two films. Despite those comments and Mazin's plan, it is highly likely that the studio is still pitching them a retread of the story in another location. I loved the first two films (I am probably in the mintority on Part II), but hope the same formula is not adopted. I am still going to see it no matter what, but would prefer a story that shakes things up a bit.
