Billy Bob Thornton sets cast for JAYNE MANSFIELD'S CAR with John Hurt, Kevin Bacon and more

Earlier we reported that Billy Bob Thornton was set to direct the drama, Jayne Mansfield's Car. Deadline reports that Thornton has set Robert Duvall, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Patrick, Ray Stevenson and John Patrick Amedori to star in the film that marks his first directing gig since 2001's Daddy and Them. 

The script was co-written by Thornton and Tom Epperson, which "revolves around the culture clash of two families, from different continents, in 1969."AR Films is funding the project along with Media Talent Group's Geyer Kosinski. Filming begins on June 22 in Georgia.

I have really enjoyed Thornton in his roles in Monster's Ball, Bad Santa and Love Actually. He directed the documentary, The King of Luck, about Willie Nelson. He has directed such films as Sling Blade and All the Pretty Horses. What are your thoughts on this news?
