Marvel Ditches Hall H at this Years Comic-Con
Say it ain't so Marvel! Say it ain't so! There was talk that Marvel would skip out on this years San Diego Comic-Con, then we heard that they would be there, leading us to believe that the studio would once again take over Hall H and show off some awesome Avengers stuff to the fans. It looks like that's not happening. Marvel has confirmed that they will not have a panel for The Avengers in the 6,000 seat Hall H. This really sucks for fans like myself who were excited as hell to see some footage from the film.
It seems like Hall H is actually going to be pretty dry this year. Warner Bros. is sitting it out so we wont see any Superman or Dark Knight Rises stuff, Disney is also sitting it out which may have been the main reason Marvel won't be there since Disney owns Marvel now. So that mean nothing from the sci-fi epic John Carter. There are a few other studios sitting it out as well, so this leave us with Columbia Pictures and The Amazing Spider-Man. Summit Entertainment with their Twilight crap, Universal Pictures will be in attendance with Cowboys & Aliens, maybe The Thing remake, Battleship, and I'm sure there will be a few other things worth seeing. At this point Spider-Man and the Cowboys & Aliens premiere are the only things I am excited about at this point.
Marvel will have a huge presence on the convention room floor, and there's talk of a promotional event that will take place outside of the San Diego convention center. So Maybe there will be a special screening of Captain America: The First Avenger or something.
What a shame this is. As a Marvel fanboy I'm extremely disappointed about this. Oh, well, we will be there and we will have a ton of fun regardless. What do you all think about Marvel skipping out on Hall H and The Avengers at this years Comic-Con?
