Guillermo del Toro's PACIFIC RIM gets a release date

Yesterday we reported some really cool details about Guillermo del Toro's next film, Pacific Rim. THR is reporting that Warner Bros. has now set an official release date for the film. The film will be Del Toro's first time directing since Hellboy II. and is described as "a monsters vs mechas action movie". Pacific Rim is set for release from Legendary Pictures on July 12, 2013.  

The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and Idris Elba and the film is based on Travis Beacham's (Clash of the Titans) script. Shooting is schedule to being in Toronto later this summer. Are you looking forward to seeing this film when it hits theaters?
