Bruce Willis confirmed for GI JOE 2: RETALIATION
Earlier we reported that Bruce Willis was in talks to join GI Joe 2: Retaliation. Dwayne Johnson, who is set to play Roadblock in the film, tweeted confirmation that Willis had joined the GI Joe sequel.
The Rock tweeted “Welcome brother Bruce Willis to the cast of GI Joe! What an honor. #HeavyArtillery.” This confirms that Willis will play General Joe Colton, the man who in 1980s comic books starts the G.I. Joe strike team, called the ultimate freedom fighting force, and got the handle G.I. Joe.
The sequel is being directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura. If cast, Willis would join Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and RZA in the action film. Filming is slated to begin in New Orleans this month to meet the scheduled June 29, 2012 release date.
