28 YEARS LATER Set Photos Feature Jodie Comer and She's Looking Rough and Battered

Some photos from the set of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s 28 Years Later have surfaced, and they are a first look at Jodie Comer's character being chased down by a group of naked zombies. It looks like she’s been through a rough time.

There are still no plot details to share, but Garland previously offered some insight on the theme of the film. He shared: “It’s to do with the passage of time, and thinking about what effect the passage of time would have.”

He added: “Is it what you would traditionally call a post-apocalyptic state? Or has something else begun to manifest? Time is really at the core of the engine of the film.”

When previously teasing the third movie, Garland said: "I have got a really cool idea for it, but it's a much bigger movie, and one of the things about 28 Days Later is that it was small and punk and this idea is less small and punk.”

Comer shared that she is "so incredibly excited" to start working on the film with Boyle. While she's "terrified" of saying anything that will spoil the story, she did talk about her involvement with the movie and teased the script while talking about the original movie.

She added: "Having met Danny, he's incredibly sure and confident and innovative. As an actor to be on a set with someone like that who's leading the charge is so exciting.

"I remember seeing 28 Days Later and I was so struck with how it was so rooted in reality, and it was more about the exploration of us as a species and our behavior and how we react.

Comer went on to tease: "It felt like there was a lot of emotional truth within the film that really anchored it. That's also what I felt when I read this script."

The film also stars Cillian Murphy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, and Ralph Fiennes . Boyle is set to direct the first film in the trilogy and The Marvels director Nia DaCosta is in talks to helm the second one.
