A Big DC Superhero is Rumored To Make a Cameo in SHAZAM!

Movie Shazam!DC by Joey Paur

I don’t know about you, but I was kind of expecting to see a couple of DC superhero cameos in DC’s upcoming film Shazam! There’s a new report that has surfaced that claims to know one of the big superhero cameos in the David F. Sandberg-directed film and how the character will be introduced.

If true, it would make for a fun cameo, but at the same time it would be done in a different way that kind of makes it less exciting. Before I go on:

According to We Got This Covered, Superman will appear in the film, but because Henry Cavill wasn’t able to work something out with the studio to appear, Superman will be played by a body double. Here are the details on how the character will be brought into the story:

According to sources close to We Got This Covered, the Man of Steel’s appearance comes at the end of Billy Batson’s new film as part of the payoff to a running joke. Throughout the movie, it’s said that Billy’s friend and foster brother Freddy Freeman has been asking Billy to show up at his school in the Shazam persona in order to prove to all of Freddy’s classmates that he knows the hero. In the final scene, Shazam finally makes an appearance, before saying that he brought another friend with him. At this point, Superman walks into the room, but since Cavill isn’t looking ready to return anytime soon, the film will allegedly use a body double that doesn’t show Clark Kent’s face.

That’s both cool and kind of a bummer because it would have been awesome to see Cavill show up as Superman in the film! Hopefully, this report is wrong and Cavill does actually show up in the film, because that would be such a great surprise!

We’ll find out what’s true and not when Shazam! hits theaters on April 5, 2019.
